There will be several events coming up in the following weeks to enhance the Day of Remembrance.

Oct. 26th at Affirmations starting at 6:30 p.m. there is to be a potluck and politics townhall.  So bring lots of food.  The panelist will be Jay Kaplan, Knoll Larkin, Melissa Pope and Dr. Julie Nemecek.  290 W. nine mile, Ferndale

Nov 16th at 7:00 p.m.  The candlelight vigil commemorating the Day of Remembrance.  It will be held at the Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit.  2441 Pinecrest Ferndale

Nov17th another potluck and a trans movie.  Starting at 7:00 at Affirmations.

Nov 18th a renaming/baptism ceremony at the Metropolitan Community Church.  This will be at the 9 and 11a.m. services.  You will receive a certificate with your new name.  Your name does not have to be legally changed to participate.  Call the church in advance if you want to be part of this magnificent event.  248-399-7741.

I’m urging everyone to contact their representative in Washington D.C. by Wednesday to pass the Baldwin amendment to the Enda bill. If the amendment is not passed urge them to vote down the Enda bill. The Enda bill as currently written does not include gender identity/expression. The Baldwin amendment will ad these protections.
